New Bedford residents from the North End, West End, and South End enjoy beaches with spectaHistoric Downtown New Bedford MAcular water views that converge at Fort Taber Park.  There are many outdoor festivals held throughout the city that take full advantage of New England's four seasons.  You will find there is something for everyone!  Arts, music, sports and all types of boating of every size, from all points of the globe can be found at the port of New Bedford.

New Bedford prides itself in having numerous libraries, parks and plentiful outdoor spaces in every neighborhood for all residents to enjoy.  The largest is the Buttonwood Park, there you will find 97 acres complete with a zoo, large sports fields for tennis, basketball and baseball.  The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, the father of American landscape architecure and designer of the famous New York City's Central Park.

The close-knit city of New Bedford is a great place for children, young teens and adults to call home.  The warmth that comes from life long friendships is one of the feelings I have when thinking of New Bedford, my home town!

There is more to the landscape than homes with many of America's top entertainers making New Bedford as part of their tour schedules.  I believe what draws tourists to New Bedford, is they can be within an hour at nearby Providence Rhode Island, Cape Cod, and the islands of Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.  It never gets old when a famous entertainer tells us thank you for making them feel welcomed in the city by the sea! 

Travel to New Bedford MA is easy with Interstate 195, Routes 1New Bedford MA Area Map40 and 18.  New Bedford Regional airport is minutes away. This is a towered airport with two 5,000-foot runways and a precision instrument landing system. The city of New Bedford MA is bordered by Fall River MA and Freetown MA to the north, Acushnet MA,  Fairhaven MA and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Dartmouth MA to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. New Bedford is approximately 60 miles south of Boston MA and 30 miles east of Providence RI.
